"I can tell you all this from experience, hating your legs and body is a terrible thing to do. While you spend time beating yourself up life will pass you by. Although I’m a guy, I have seen the time that I would not get caught dead in shorts. I was very skinny when I was a kid and teenager and I did not want anybody in this world to see my skinny legs. I was well into my 20s before I got over that. Looking back, I really regret that I felt that way about myself. It makes no difference what size or shape your body is now, you have got a life to live. You better try to enjoy it while you can. It makes no difference how skinny your legs are, there is not one reason in this whole world that you can’t wear shorts, skirts, and dresses and be happy. Don’t waste one second of your time worrying about what other people will think about you. If anybody don’t like how you look they can keep their eyes off of you. If you can do this, go to a city or town many miles from where you live so that you will not see somebody you know and spend the day wearing shorts or skirts in public. You will find that most people will not pay any attention to what you are wearing. That helped me. When it comes to being teased about having skinny legs, it is likely that you will get that all along. Often the ones that do that don’t mean any harm and do it for fun. The way to handle that is to laugh at yourself and show them that nothing they say bothers you. No matter what they say, don’t ever let that smile come off of your face. It will not be that bad. If anybody says something ugly to you don’t say anything back, just ignore them and walk away. Do not under any circumstances let them bring you down and ruin your day. If you want to work at improving the tone of your legs there are many exercises you can do. A weight bench with leg attachments will allow you to do some leg exercises that might help. Working to improve your legs and body is good, but don’t ever be ashamed of what you have got now. When spring comes I encourage all of you to start living in shorts, skirts, dresses, and anything else that is comfortable. Don’t miss the chance to do that. Good luck to all of you."
